Olympic Games/ summer, 1924/ Paris/ Cartophily/ Philately/ Colombes/ Parade/ Weissmuller/ cartophily. Set of 19 pieces on the 2nd Paris Games: a) 4 cards or envelopes with open roulette cachet "Jeux Olympiques, Paris, Mai-Juin-Juillet, 1924", Paris XIV, with d'Orléans; b) two new, unwritten cpa, serie AN (Armand Noyer), 175, Weissmuler, USA, and 176, Water-Polo, Piscine des Tourelles. With three gold medals in freestyle (100m), or relay, Johnny, the future Tarzan, will be the big star of these Games, and the bronze gleaned in water-polo will be ideal to prepare for his exploits in the jungle; c) 2 pieces, one card, and one envelope with closed cachet "Jeux Olympiques, Paris, mai-juin-juillet, 1924", Paris Départ; d) 3 envelopes, same cachet, Paris rue la Boétie, and Place Chopin and Marseille; e) 2 pieces, one card Gare de l'ESt, with 3 official Games stamps and beautiful closed Olympic cancel, from Gare St Lazare, same departure from gare St Lazare with envelope and beautiful cancel on official Olympic stamp, small upper tear repaired; f) around the Olympic parade on the Colombes stadium, 6 cpa, including 4 AN, 1 AP, and 1 retirage : the 4 AN, 309 (general view, taken from a plane), 347 (the flag salute), 354 (the French team on the lawn lined up behind the flag), and 362 (the French team makes the Olympic salute in front of the official stand), cpa AP (Photo H.Manuel from the official stand), the French team greets the officials, and 346 AN, Géo André takes the oath. Two cpa of the Stade de Colombes outside the Games are included.
