This historic image is the first view of the Earth from the Moon taken by Apollo 8 astronauts on Christmas Eve 1968. Commander Frank Borman first immortalized the scene with black and white photographic film. Capturing its historical character, he rotated the control module while control module pilot Jim Lovell captured the scene on colour film.
