Marcel LENOIR - Jules Oury dit (1872-1931),... - Lot 278 - Vermot et Associés
Marcel LENOIR - Jules Oury dit (1872-1931), painter, engraver, draughtsman and illuminator: Autograph letter signed with original drawing by him, 1 page small in-4, circa 1909, to Henry Lapauze (1867-1925, Art critic and Curator of the Palais des Beaux-Arts), Lenoir and Lapauze were both from Montauban: "First of all, thank you for having been to Bernheim's house [Bernheim-Jeune gallery]. Fénéon [the art critic Félix Fénéon] taught me that this evening. In a word, I am having my Exhibition at Benheim on May 19th. I've been cut in half. What do you want this [is] an effort to make. But I am happy. Today I had a good little windfall: would my paintings really start selling? On your side, my dear Lapauze, see if there is not a possibility of getting me to do something - I am happy, here I am, half penetrated at Bernheim's. After the Exhibition we will try to stay there permanently.
