HERMANT (Pierre Antoine Achille)
Architect. Pupil of Blouet, he exhibited, in 1857, a plan of a Central Cattle Market. In 1870, he became Architect of the City of PARIS. (born in Paris 1823) - Autograph letter signed on May 4, 1857 - 3pp in-8°: "My Dear ASSELINEAU, You do not know that I went to your house today. I have a favour to ask of you and I am writing you what I could not tell you.... You know Mr. De CHENNEVIÈRES and I believe you have a certain influence on him. Would you recommend him three architectural drawings and a plan in relief: Project for a Cattle Market, Abattoirs, Sales Rooms, Stables, etc.; which are presented at the Salon and registered under N° 788 to 791. The first three numbers form a Collection. It is a Project originally made by the named JANICOT. The Fourth is only a Plan made by me as a variant... One seeks all the possible means to obtain the Decree which would make carry out this Market and my variant is with 99/100° admitted by the speculators who ask to build..."
