Memomatic - reference 166.071 Steel alarm watch with automatic movement. - Cushion-shaped steel case, smooth bezel, fluted crowns including the one at 2 o'clock for the alarm function, screwed caseback. - Dial in three shades of gray, luminescent painted indexes, straight white painted hands, orange central second hand, date window at 3 o'clock, double disc for the alarm function (hours and minutes) - Black leather strap with orange stitching, metal pin buckle. Case, dial and movement signed. Movement: mechanical with automatic winding. Movement caliber 980 - numbered 30.012.142 (circa 1969) Case numbered 166.071 Dimensions: 40 x 46 mm - Strap length: 16 - 20 cm Launched in 1970, the Memomatic is a wristwatch with an alarm function that contains a double innovation. The first is the automatic winding system that winds the watch and the alarm function at the same time. The second is the precise use of this function: it is the first alarm watch that can be programmed to the minute. As can be seen in the picture: the triangle indicates the hours of the alarm, the double line, the minutes. A similar model can be found in the Omega Museum at Biel under the reference 1516 (page 293).
