Rugby / Pipiou Dupuy / André Herrero / Déro / Tarbes / Toulo - Lot 174
Rugby / Pipiou Dupuy / André Herrero / Déro / Tarbes / Toulon Robert Décremps, alias DÉRO (1920-2000) Two caricatures: Pipiou Dupuy and André Herrero India ink on paper, signed, captioned 50 x 39 cm Original illustrations for "La Fabuleuse histoire du Rugby" by Henri Garcia, published by Odil in 1973. Pipiou Dupuy (1934-2010), the ¾ wing from Tarbes, was a wall-burner, a moustachioed go-getter capable of scoring the most improbable tries. Between 1956 and 1964, he won 41 caps. His other nicknames, Jojo and Bourvil, show that Déro didn't miss him. André Herrero, who passed away on October 23, 2025, was represented on the board, half king's privateer with Les Bleus (22 caps), half pirate on the harbor (two Brennus finals, one du Manoir). Déro makes him fierce and dashing, like a truly great wing 3rd row.
