"I warn you, Citizen Commander, that I have appointed you to temporarily fill the functions of Chief of the General Staff of the Army I command. I inform the Minister of War of this provision. I take this opportunity with pleasure to pay to your zeal and your activity the tribute of praise which you have so justly deserved. I salute you, MURAT."
