Paris, Au Comptoir des Imprimeurs Réunis, 1843. 2 volumes in-8, (4)-XVI-348 and (4)-364 pp bound in contemporary brown half-chagrin with corners, spine ribbed and decorated (acceptable brown spots). First French edition of this work published in Germany in 1835. A handwritten note on the 1st blank page gives the provenance of this copy and indicates that the translation is by Hortense Cornu, goddaughter of Napoleon III. A good, well-bound copy.
