Tank Louis Cartier model Gold-plated "Electroplatred" dress watch with mechanical movement. - Rectangular case with rounded edges, gadrooned bezel, beaded crown adorned with a sapphire cabochon, screw-down sides. - White dial, black-painted Roman numerals, black-painted straight hands. - Without bracelet Dial signed Cartier Swiss Case numbered inside 8084 Hand-wound mechanical movement signed Cartier Inc. Dimensions: 30 x 23 mm Condition report: Good general condition, scratches from use, original movement, watch does not work at time of appraisal, servicing recommended. Note: This collection comes from a former press attaché of a major Maison de la Place Vendôme. These watches are probably "atelier" watches, i.e. intended for the staff, but without signature and/or numbering to avoid premature resale. These watches will not be recognized by Cartier as official productions. We are dealing here with a model known to have been marketed in the late 1970s/early 1980s in the USA, with a movement signed Cartier Inc. They are not sold as Cartier watches.
