LA FONTAINE (Jean de): Contes et nouvelles en vers. Librairie de France, 1930. 2 volumes in-4, midnight-blue morocco, smooth spines with gilded titles and motifs of gilded squares and circles in violet leather, first cover decorated with a double central frame of violet leather pastilles and double pink circles, all framing a semi of small gilded squares, gilded head, smooth-backed folders, slipcase (Hélène Cauchetier). Edition illustrated with color compositions by Charles MARTIN. Copy on vellum, with two suites of illustrations. A very fine copy bound by Hélène Cauchetier, one of the great "Art-Déco" bookbinders. She was a pupil of René Kieffer and won numerous awards. A very fine copy.
