NASA. Exceptional view from space showing Lake NATRON (Tanzania). This view was taken with infrared film by astronauts on the space shuttle COLUMBIA (Mission STS-55). Thanks to the signature seen in this photograph, the lake appears to be highly saline and contains little chlorophyll. May 1993. chromogenic print on "KODAK" paper.
