John Parkes Sons, no. 6822. Circa 1900 Victorian mahogany two-day reserve marine chronometer. Silver dial signed and numbered JOHN PARKES SONS, 43 44 Canning Place, Liverpool, 6822, Makers to the Admiralty. Roman numerals, gilded hour and minute hands, subdials with blued steel hands. Seconds dial inscribed 6822. Pendulum with cylindrical weights for thermal compensation, brass bowl and gimbal. Presented in a brass-rimmed mahogany case with two side cuffs adorned with a central bone disk bearing the manufacturer's name and serial number. Trace of the old label inside the box. Dial diameter: 10cm Case dimensions: 18 x 18.4 x 18.3 cm Key missing.
