Georges DESAINS (1879-1963) L'Oiselle Vega la Magicienne, circa 1910. Ink drawing on paper. Signed lower right GD. 28.5 x 41.5 cm. Framed under glass. L'Oiselle is a fictional heroine created by René d'Anjou, whose literary adventures were first published in 1909. Thanks to mechanical wings that fit over her black jersey, she is capable of true aerial prowess, which she puts to use in the service of the organization Les Compagnons de l'Étoile Noire . This character, a true superhero before her time, uses her technology to put an end to the activities of a criminal organization in Paris.
