View of Tambora Caldera, Sumbawa Island, Indonesia. Tambora is a 6km-wide, 650m-deep crater formed in 1815 as the result of a major volcanic eruption. NASA photos 20 x 25 numbered S26-38-56 and captioned on the back. Photos taken during various missions aboard the space shuttles Columbia, Challenger, Discovery and Atlantis. Each shuttle mission is designated by the acronym "STS" (Space Transportation System) followed by a mission number.
