Inert replica of the Dragon missile, the smallest solid rocket motor of its time (1960s), used by the US military and produced by Mc Donnell Douglas. Dimensions of the small engine in its original packaging: 4 x 3cm. The M47 Dragon was the 1st anti-tank missile. Its name derives from the noise (crackling and sparking) made by the thirty or so micro rocket motors propelling the missile. The first test of the missile took place in December 1967, and the first operational firing on July 5, 1968.
