AERONAUTICS Set of 2 photos of the X-14B experimental aircraft The X-14B aircraft, built by Bell Aircraft Corporation, is an experimental vertical take-off and landing aircraft developed in the 1950s. The first flight took place on February 19, 1957. NASA used it for various series of tests, and in particular for the Apollo program, since the aircraft's flight controls were similar to those of the Apollo lunar module, and it was used to train astronauts for the lunar landing. NASA black and white photos 20 X 25cm, dated September 22, 1971, captioned on the back, bearing the numbers 71-H-1487 and 71-H-1482.
