Jean Philippe Guy LE GENTIL Comte de PAROY(1760-1824, became Marquis on his father's death in 1807, Engraver, miniaturist and painter) / Autograph contract signed, 1 page small in-4 (18.5 x 24.5 cm), drawn up in Paris on March 12, 1806: It is agreed between him and Jacques Le Roy, proxy of Joseph Louis Le Roy, "his painter and draughtsman son", that Jacques Le Roy authorizes Mr. de Paroy to sell for his benefit the print engraved (by Paroy) under the title "Œdipe et Antigone" after the design by Joseph Louis Le Roy, under the condition that Le Roy will receive 24 engravings - Le Roy Père has signed below with "approuvé" [Joseph Louis LE ROY (1767-1829) was a pupil of Jean Benoit Suvée; his father, who is here his proxy, was librarian of Louis XVI's petits appartements at Versailles, and was thus in close contact with the king, as was Jean-Philippe-Guy de Paroy, who was a member of the royal guard and took part in the defense of the Royal Family].
