Cyclisme / Cyclisme Féminin / Préhistoire Lot de 2 revues ra - Lot 9
Cyclisme / Cyclisme Féminin / Préhistoire Lot de 2 revues rares - "La Revue Illustrée" n°168, December 1, 1892: behind a sumptuous color cover featuring a young cyclist in motion and a fine report on Alphonse Daudet, we discover a superb 3-page illustrated article: "La Reine Bicyclette", in which Henri Nicolle testifies to the machine's burgeoning influence, both among ladies and in the political world (Clémenceau). With 11 illustrations by Godefroy, 33x25 (as is) - Special issue of "Le Vélo": "Le Vélo de Noël", Christmas 1899. Cover by Jan Van Beers (the bicycle is a Humber), 32 pages of this large illustrated format (37x27.5) entirely devoted to the Vélo, as Pierre Giffard and Paul Rousseau point out in their preface. We discover a calendar of the four seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn) illustrated by Moreno, and in the center a fabulous double by the master Steinlen: Le retour du Bois, le Dimanche. A pure marvel, with women still at the head of the gondola. Around or between articles by Emile Goudeau, who takes us to Granville and the Bois. Maurice Vaucaire thrills us with "Un record sentimental", Georges Prade gives us a ride in his automobile, while the great Paul Bernard demonstrates his expertise in "Courses Classiques". Diégo Malevue deals subtly with "light and heavy weights", while E.Sustrac takes us for 13 days from Clermont to Massiac, via the Cévennes and the Gorges du Tarn, via Garabit. Articles on "Les Voiturettes", fashion, and a poem by Georges Lorin round off this "collector" issue, as Adolphe Willette and J. Veber also work in garland.
