Dogon, Mali KANAGA mask in polychrome wood with its net-cagoule in braided fiber rope. The Kanaga mask dances and spins as it touches the ground, uniting the cosmic forces of the sky and the telluric forces of the earth, symbolized by the characteristic structure atop the mask.
