Cycling / Hugo Koblet / Géminiani / Bahamontes / Déro - Lot 99
Cycling / Hugo Koblet / Géminiani / Bahamontes / Déro Robert Décremps, alias DÉRO (1920-2000) 3 caricatures: Hugo Koblet, Raphaël Géminiani and Federico Bahamontes India ink on paper, signed, captioned 34.5 x 32.5 cm - 50 x 39 cm - 36 x 33 cm Three original illustrations for "La Fabuleuse histoire du Cyclisme" by Pierre Chany (1922-1996), published by Odil in 1975. Hugo Koblet (1925-1964) finishes 1st in Agen in the 1951 Tour, and by a long way. Déro captures the moment: the victorious breakaway, elegant, even has time to comb his hair and look in the mirror. A moment of grace. Just as he flew over the Giro in 1950, Koblet charms the Tour in his turn. Gem (1925-2024) on foot, downhill, shoots "the big gun". The champion from Auvergne, winner of the Grand Prix de la Montagne in 1951, lived as long and beautifully as his gun. Winner of the 1959 Tour, the Spanish climber (1928-2023), crowned 5 times best climber of the Tour, is indeed the Eagle of Toledo that Déro captures in flight.
