BOURBON-CONTI. Louis-François de BOURBON, Prince de CONTI (1717 - 1776) Lieutenant-General, Generalissimo of the Armies in Italy in 1744, leader of the Princes' opposition to Maupéou and Turgot. Autograph letter signed at BRÉZÉS (Château de BRÉZÉ, Maine-et-Loire) at eleven o'clock (circa 1744), to Mr. le Marquis de MONTEYNARD, aux GUIPIÈRES (Les Guipières, Hautes-Alpes): "I have just received your letter and I am very pleased with what you confirm to me, what I already thought about the abandonment of Les Guipières. M. de GARCIA must have already received a letter from me in which I asked him to lie down on his right to camp on the mountain ((La Montagnette, Hautes-Alpes) which the enemies have also abandoned, and to pass it immediately to M. LAUTREC so that he can come to his left to occupy the Guipières; If there were any inconvenience in this, which I believe is not possible, please tell me; I have sent BOURCET to reconnaitre a camp on the mountain, you can communicate with him. You know my feelings and my friendship for you. L. F. de Bourbon. 1 page in-4°.
