Guillaume LATRILLE de LORENCEZ (Pau 1772 - 1855) General during the Revolution and Empire. Son-in-law of Marshal OUDINOT. Count of the Empire in 1813. He served in Russia in 1812 - Letter signed Baron de LORENCEZ, General, Chief of Staff of the 2nd Corps of the GRANDE ARMÉE, at headquarters in MAGDEBOURG (Germany) on March 16, 1812, addressed to General CASTEX in GREIFSWALD (Germany), Swedish Pomerania. Franking mark "Etat-Major-Général", 1p folio - "Ordre du jour : Regiments forming part of the 2nd Corps which have not yet received any ambulance deliveries... are warned that ... the assortment of ambulance vans for each Corps must be composed as follows: (number of) mattresses, blankets, stretchers, amputation case, medicine case, lint, dressing linen... for infantry or cavalry. These various supplies will be given to the Corps Health Officers charged by the Boards of Directors to receive them, at the MAGDEBOURG hospital store, where they are invited to report without delay."
