MADIER DE MONTJAU Joseph-Paulin (Bourg-St-Andéol/ Ardèche 17 - Lot 567
MADIER DE MONTJAU Joseph-Paulin (Bourg-St-Andéol/ Ardèche 1758 - St-Gervais 1857), Lawyer, Auditor at the Conseil d'État, elected Deputy in 1830, joined Louis-Philippe's government, became Procureur Gal in Lyon. The King rushed to St Cloud and was enthusiastically welcomed by the military and the Citizen Guard. I can hear the drums beating everywhere, and if the fighting starts again, the outcome will be even more certain than yesterday, with thirty thousand National Guards and soldiers arriving in all directions...".
