Silver censer in the shape of a church. - Lot 116
Silver censer in the shape of a church. The upper part depicts an Armenian church with arches and three steeples, each topped by a cross. The base is a tripod celestial globe. Equipped with a lateral handle. A rather crude inscription indicates that it was a gift to the church of Saint-Serge (Sourp Sarkis) from a pilgrim (madhesi) son of Garabed. Probably Sivas, 19th century. H: 19 cm; W: 12 cm. Provenance: Boisgirard sale, Arts d'Orient : collection Kélékian et à divers amateurs, Hôtel Drouot, Paris, June 18, 2001, lot 318.
