Lectionary (Ճաշոց), 1686 Venice, impr. Gaspar son of khodja Sarhat of New Djulfa and the priest Tadeos Hamazaspian of Yerevan, 1686-1688. 2 volumes. Vol. 1: (2), 20, 3-436 pages. Vol. 2: pages 437 to 850 (instead of 998). Small folio. 2 title pages, numerous ornamental woodcuts in text and margins. 8 full-page engravings. Margins trimmed, cutting through marginal ornamentation. This sumptuous first edition of the lectionary, offering the biblical readings for each day's services, was one of only three works financed by the wealthy Sceriman (Shahrimani) family of New Djulfa in Persia, to which Gaspar son of Sarhat belonged. Each volume bound with a copy of a book on the Holy Liturgy according to the Armenian rite Խորհրդատետր սրբոյ պատարագին ըստ արարողութեան Հայաստանեայց եկեղեցւոյ ըստ օրինակին տպագրելոյ ի Հռովմ printed by the Mékhitaristes of Trieste in 1803 (40 pp, with 2 full-page engravings). Two different handsome bindings, late 19th century.
