BESANÇON (Doubs) June 27, 1823. 2 pages in-4°: "Monsieur le Comte. I have just completed a confirmation tour which lasted 15 days, and I arrived last night in Besançon where I found the letter... I will see with M. le Procureur du Séminaire whom we can charge with the power of attorney... in relation to the Chappe of which you speak to me. I have only time, before the departure of the Courier, to assure you and to renew to you the feelings with which I will never cease to be penetrated for the memory of Monseigneur your Uncle. It is a duty imposed upon me by the most just gratitude. If you have the opportunity to come to Besançon, I hope you will take lodgings with me...".
