LOUIS-PHILIPPE. RHÔNE. LYON, August 18, 1830. Proclamation of King LOUIS-PHILIPPE. Garde des Sceaux DUPONT (de l'Eure): "Frenchmen! You have saved your Liberties; you have called upon me to govern you according to the Laws. Your task is gloriously accomplished; mine begins.... The administration must resume its course everywhere... Reforms are necessary in the public services... French, Europe contemplates, with admiration mixed with some surprise, our glorious revolution... Liberty, Public Order: this is the motto that the National Guard of Paris wears on its flags; may it also be the spectacle that France offers to Europe.
