NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Is this an impressive false-color photograph produced by the VOYAGER 1 space probe, or a research photograph by the great painter Rothko? It's simply the mists captured from a distance of 22,000 km from Saturn's moon Titan. The colors are artificial and serve to highlight the details of the mist that covers Titan. The top layer of thick aerosol above the satellite's limb is shown in orange. The divisions in the haze occur at altitudes of 200, 375 and 500 kilometers above the moon's limb. November 1980. Vintage chromogenic print. Numbering on front. Label on back. 40.6 x 40.6 cm with margins.
