This distant view of the STS-106 liftoff was photographed over the marshes around Mosquito Lagoon and Banana Creek, on the way to the Atlantic Ocean. On board were astronauts Terrence W. Wilcutt, Scott D. Altman, Edward T. Lu, Richard A. Mastracchio and Daniel C. Burbank, as well as cosmonauts Yuri I. Malenchenko and Boris V. Morukov, representatives of the Russian Space Agency.
