Eighteenth-century tortoiseshell "nécessaire d'amitié" case on embossed silver paper. The upper and lower bands are in gold, the hinge is in vermeil, and the lid decoration is in low-title rose gold. Vanneau head hallmark: Parisian discharge between 1782 and 1789. Contains a needle case, a writing tablet, a toothpick/ear pick, a tongue scraper, a lace loop and a silver-bladed penknife. 8.6 cm x 5.1 cm 50.3 grams gross Eaters and cracks to scale.
