CENT JOURS / Rare (anonymous) printed pamphlet circulating d - Lot 491
CENT JOURS / Rare (anonymous) printed pamphlet circulating during the Hundred Days castigating Napoleon, addressed to the Inhabitants of Paris: "600 pieces of cannon placed on the heights of Paris!!!! or the Buonaparte of 1815, in contradiction with the Buonaparte of 1809", "The monster who brings you war with all its plagues, has the audacity to announce that he wants to drag you down with him, by forcing foreigners to burn your city, or rather by burning it himself"; "A soul for Napoleon!... Great God! Eternal source of goodness and justice, it's up to you alone to tell us whether you've given him a soul! The tiger, who is also the work of your hands, at least sometimes falls asleep in the blood of his victims, and Napoleon's ferocity still watches over us. Save us from his new fury, and if it is true that you have given him a soul, save it yourself by purifying it with remorse commensurate with his crimes; but may he, in this world at least, no longer communicate with men!" (8 p in-8, some soiling)
