Given at Versailles on October 1, 1772 - Printed by the widow of André GIROUD, Printer-Libraire du Parlement (du Dauphiné) 4 pages in-4°: "... we are informed that a large number of Monasteries of the Order of St. Benedict in our Kingdom, the Cloister Chapels and other Cloister Offices, and even the Monastic Places, have become, through the succession of times, a species of Benefice distinct and separate from the Conventual Menses, and that they are possessed e titre by Regulars. This abuse, introduced and to some extent sanctioned by ancient custom, is no less contrary to the temporal good of monasteries than to the maintenance of regular discipline..."
