PESTE DE LILLE of 1668. Placard (35.5 x 29) given by "Messieurs les Echevins, Conseil, et 8 Hommes, commis à la Chambre de Santé établie en la Ville de LILLE" (Entête, Lettrine), January 5, 1668 - stating that the Contagious Disease is diminishing and diminishing, by the Grace of God, and the human remedies that have been employed", thanks to the Place de Santé half a quarter of an hour distant from the City,... the infection is contained to the body and house of the Pestiférés: and why, in view of the Certificates issued to individuals stating that they are not infected with the Contagious disease,... there is no danger of admitting, lodging and receiving such individuals in garrisons, nor goods, commodities and all other things coming from them...".
