Aimé GUERLAIN, Perfumer (1834 -1910). Father of modern perfumery. Signed Jicky and created the first refillable lipstick. Eldest son of the Founder of the House of GUERLAIN - Autograph letter signed "Guerlain Aimé" on the letterhead "Guerlain Parfumeur, rue de la Paix, N°15, to his sister Alix GUERLAIN (1832-1913), wife of Jules PIRAS. Paris, December 30, 1882: "My dear sister. While respecting your incognito, I hope to be able, with the help of Me Louvet, to send you my best wishes for the New Year, as well as the small gift enclosed, which I believe to be the most practical in the rather precarious state of your finances. The small box which accompanies this letter contains a small assortment of perfume to replace some of the empties in your toiletries. I had dinner with Aimé on Christmas Day; he's always a nice boy. His brother is still in Dieppe, doing well. Love to your Guerlain brother Aimé." (Envelope enclosed from Maison Guerlain)
