Ibn Fahad al-Hilli, Uddat al-da'i wa najah al-sa'i ( ةّدُع (یعاّسلا حاجَن و یعاّدلا Illuminated manuscript on paper. In-8° (22 x 12.5 cm), illuminated first page, 205 leaves, 15 lines per page, text in a single column, within an ink and gilt border, highlights in red. Restored full leather binding. This book is bound with a second manuscript of 25 leaves written by the same scribe. The scribe is Ibn al-Mu'adhdhin, who copied it in 1043 AH (1633 AD) from a manuscript by Al-Shahid dated 801 AH (1399 AD). Uddat al-dāʿī wa najāh al-sāʿī, written by Ahmad ben Muhammad ibn Fahad al-Hilli, a Shiite cleric and jurist from Iraq (1355-1438 AD), is a classic of the Shiite Islamic religion. In six parts, the author addresses issues such as the definition of an invocation, motivations and ways of reciting it.
