Missale Romanum Naples, ex typographia Dantis, 1851. Large folio (39 x 26 cm). Numerous full-page engravings. Bound with : Missae Propriae Juxta Recentiora Decreta a Summis Pontificibus Naples, ex tipographia Petrarchiana, 1835. Splendid ecru cloth binding adorned with a pattern of tiny pink, red, yellow, green, blue, violet and transparent glass beads, with a Greek-patterned border on a background of transparent beads, surrounding a border of roses, large decorative corner panels with flowers and fruit, and two large flaming hearts in the center of the pattern, surrounded by a crown of thorns, the right-hand heart pierced by a sword. Spine adorned with a row of lozenges flanked by a Greek motif frame. Silk edge tabs, numerous red silk bookmarks. Some beads missing. The Roman Missal contains the texts and rubrics for the celebration of the most common liturgies and Masses of the Roman Rite Catholic Church.
