Chalice in silver and vermeil The inscription in cursive Armenian letters at its base can be translated as follows: This chalice was offered in 1642 to the church Sourp Kévork church in Constantinople, in memory of the souls of our brothers from the village of Guedzvagna (????????), living and deceased. Amen. This chalice is in pure Armenian style, with a very wide pedestal. Decorated with angels in clouds. Its base is adorned with three medallions representing Christ's Baptism, Last Supper and Resurrection, surrounded by vine and wheat plants. The church of Saint Georges church mentioned in the inscription is located in the Samatya district of Istanbul. We have not identified the village mentioned in the inscription. Height: 31.5 cm.
