ROUEN (Seine-Maritime) 2 scrolls from 1572 and 1660; Parchment from 1572 (11 x 35 cm) bearing the letterhead of King CHARLES IX—“CHARLES, by the grace of God, King of France. To the first bailiff or sergeant to whom this is addressed, Greetings, Having received the humble petition from our beloved Pierre de Bessin, Lord of Mathonville, stating that David SYMON, son and heir of Jehan SYMON, on his own behalf and on behalf of the widow of the said SYMON, has declared that he is the appellant in a certain judgment… brought before us by my officials from the petition of the Parliament of Rouen, arising from a civil case…” Wherefore, we hereby order that, at the petitioner’s request, the said David SYMON be summoned to appear before our Court of Parliament… For such is our pleasure on April 15, 1572.
