NAVY. Joseph Ignace de LYLE, Lord of CALLIAN, ROQUEBRUNE, Squadron Commander in the Navy. (1713–1794). Letter signed “Chevalier de LYLE CALLIAN,” a copy of an order issued aboard the ship LE SÉDUISANT on May 29, 1784: “Pursuant to the orders that Mr. de SENNEVILLE has just received from Mr. the Chevalier de FABRY, the Captains of the ships in the harbor are requested to order a general muster on their vessels and ensure the utmost cleanliness; tomorrow morning the same, and every day thereafter until it is known for certain whether His Swedish Majesty will pass through here or not. In any case, no honors are to be rendered to him, as His Majesty wishes to remain incognito.” 1p in-4°.
