SARRE-UNION (Bas-Rhin) 11 Ventôse Year 3 (March 1, 1795), Letter signed “The Administrators of the District of SAARUNION” (Letterhead, beautiful engraved vignette. “To the French Republic,” addressed to the Commander-in-Chief of the Army of the Rhine (MICHAUD). 2 pages, in-4° - “The laborers from the communes of our district who worked on repairs to the lines at Quiech and Germersheim (Germany) continue to pester us for the payment owed to them for this work… ” He urges him to provide the means to satisfy them. “Among the laborers, there are some who are in need; consequently, humanity and justice demand that there be no delay in the payment of their just claim.”
