Notice from the Mayor of NANTES, BERTRAND-GESLIN, Baron of the Empire, to the REFUGEES, issued at City Hall on May 22, 1815 – “Wishing to ascertain the number of refugees who have taken shelter in this city, I invite them to report to the Police Commissioners within 24 hours. The Mayor takes this opportunity to remind residents of their obligation to report any strangers in the city to whom they provide lodging, whether in furnished rooms or otherwise…”.
