ARIÈGE. (1816). Letter from Field Marshal Baron COUTURE, Commander of the Ariège Department on behalf of the KING, to the Mayors: “As Inspector General, I shall make a final decision regarding the fate of all officers, noncommissioned officers, and soldiers in the department, regardless of their branch of service… All military personnel, regardless of rank, must report to my office; specifically: those from the PAMIERS district from the 22nd of this month through the 26th inclusive; those from the SAINT GIRONS district from February 2 through the 7th inclusive; and those from the FOIX district from the 27th of this month through February 1 inclusive…”.
