NASA. LARGE FORMAT. APOLLO 15 MISSION. The Falcon Lunar Modu - Lot 92
NASA. LARGE FORMAT. APOLLO 15 MISSION. The Falcon Lunar Module after the second spacewalk
This photograph shows the underside of the Falcon Lunar Module after the second spacewalk by the Apollo 15 astronauts. It reveals the equipment installed beneath the module as well as several objects deliberately left on the lunar surface. The relatively limited effects of the engine’s exhaust on the lunar dust are also visible. The image was taken by James Irwin at the end of the second lunar walk. This photograph is a valuable record of the organization of operations and the equipment used during the Apollo missions. 1971. Post-processed chromogenic print. Numbered on the front. Caption on a label on the back. 40.6 x 40.6 cm with margins.
