First, I wanted to read part of the present work you sent me; and the past has shown me the entire future you wish to prepare. I have complete confidence in the author whose works I have read with great interest. I have just arrived from Saint-Assisse and am going to carry out the plan you have approved. But first, we need to have a brief discussion; and if you’d like, next Tuesday at two o’clock, or Thursday at the same time, I’ll be waiting for you at 54 Rue St. Dominique, where we’ll agree on all the details; and the concrete proposals I have to make. I would be delighted to support your fine undertaking, even if I am merely a tag-along here—you have prepared everything so well that all that remains is to move forward… November 9, Paris. ” + Letter from A.S.’s husband: Count Achille de BASCHI, Count of CAYLA, Peer of France (1775–1851).
