Camille BACHASSON, Count of MONTALIVET (Valence, Drôme, 1801–1880), Minister of the Interior and friend of Louis-Philippe, Member of the Academy of Fine Arts. 3 Autograph letters signed by the Count of MONTALIVET, to Michel LÉVY, bookseller, founder, and publisher of *L’Univers illustré*, 1849–1850: He asks him to publish in his newspaper, *L’Univers illustré*, “My portrait based on the work of Mr. Bonnat” and the terms of its publication. He requests a proof and several copies of the printed edition. Another letter written from the Château de LAGRANGE-MONTALIVET in SAINT-BOUIZE (Cher): “Dear Mr. (Michel Lévy). This letter will be delivered to you by Mr. PICOT, Judge of the Seine Court, who has been kind enough to take charge of distributing the one hundred in-18 copies that I have reserved for myself, including 50 on fine paper. Please make them available to him. I take this opportunity to urge you to expedite the publication—which has already been delayed too long—of my little book…”
