Mr. MIOT, State Councilor and Commissioner of the Emperor, arrived the day before yesterday in this city, where neither he nor the new Prefect are at all familiar with the civil servants, and he immediately convened a sort of council... The result was that yesterday the Director of Taxation was dismissed and replaced by CHAUVEAU, my nephew... All of this took place entirely without my knowledge...” - He is requesting confirmation of this appointment for his grandnephew, who is a tax inspector in the Haute-Marne Department...”
