Member of the Institute of Egypt (1747–1825) - Letter A.S., 1 page, in-12°, February 11, 1817, to Jean Denis BARBIÉ DU BOCAGE [1760–1825] “of the Académie des Inscriptions” at 38 rue des Saints Pères, Paris: “If Mr. BARBIÉ DU BOCAGE is acquainted with his colleague Mr. Bernardi [J.E. Dominique Bernardi / 1751–1824 / jurist, member of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres], I would ask him to put me in touch with him on the day of their meeting at the Institut. If Madame Du Bocage has a message for Mlle Cornélie, we will send their most humble and most obedient servant to her boarding house tomorrow. Respectful regards from my family.” Beneath his signature, he added, “Former shipbuilder. Former Consul General of France, Member of the Institut d’Égypte.”
