Bailiff of the King's Chamber LOUIS XVI. Devoted to the Royal family, he followed the Royal family to the Temple and was in charge of the Dolphin until his arrest. He accompanied Marie-Thérèse from France to Vienna in 1795. Baron in 1815. Letter signed "Baron HUE" to Mr. le Comte (Gentil St Alphonse), at the Château de ST CLOUD on 22 July 1818. 1p in-4° - "Please receive all my thanks for the favourable report you have made regarding my son's request for a new military rank. The King himself announced yesterday in an interval of the Council meeting that he had just appointed my young man Squadron Leader. This morning he thanked His Majesty (Louis XVIII) and yesterday I offered mine to Mr. Marshal de Saint Cyr. You promised Mr. Daugé that you would dedicate a day to me to come to dinner with him at my house: I will wait for this moment with an impatience equal to the gratitude I owe you." -
