Jean Cocteau : Le livre blanc, preceded... - Lot 82 - Vermot et Associés
Jean Cocteau : Le livre blanc, preceded by a frontispiece and accompanied by 17 drawings by Jean Cocteau. Editions du Signe, 1930. In-4 period paperback, cover cons. (spine faded, binding broken with body of the book detached) Original edition. 69 pages followed by a handwritten text by J. COCTEAU (facsimile), then by 17 full-page drawings by the author. Complete edition at 450 copies. 1/18 of head on Japan, this one n° D of the 6 ex. hors commerce. It is a short novel, semi-autobiographical, where Jean COCTEAU evokes his youth and his attraction for a high school student, Dargelos. The text ends with a brief plea for homosexuality. Published without an author's name, out of refusal to be provocative, this book was nevertheless a landmark.
