Théophile de BRÉMOND D'ARS (Saintes 1787-1875), Marquis de Migré, Vicomte de Brémond d'Ars, Baron de Dompierre sur Charente et d'Orlac, Inspector General of Cavalry, Commander of the Legion of Honor. Letter A.S. from BELMONT near SAINT-AFFRIQUE (Aveyron) on May 28 (1814), addressed to Madame Sophie de BREMOND in SAINTES (17). 3 pages in-4° - "... I must go to Bordeaux, without this delay, I could have been in time to present myself to H.R.H. the Duke of Angouleme.... I have just been proposed again for the Cross of the Legion of Honor and to have the confirmation of my rank of Captain, being it only provisionally by Marshal SOULT, but which was authorized by the Head of the Old Government. It would be easy for my father to know where his two proposals stood..." (excerpt). A letter signed "WARROQUIER", addressed to Théophile de BRÉMOND D'ARS Captain, in Saintes (17), from Saint-Affrique (Aveyron) of January 5, 1819, is attached. He gives him news of his nephew BEAULIEU, also Captain, who arrived from the borders of Russia. He is satisfied with his news because he believed Théophile de Bremond d'Ars dead in Spain.
